Whistle Stop Cafe first opened in Fox Lake, IL in 1996. Recently in June 2022, the Restaurant was sold to its 3rd owner. The current owners are also the proud owners of Hickory Knoll Golf Course in Lake Villa, Bob's Marina in Antioch, and Red School Cafe in Bristol, WI. Located only a short walk from the Metra Train line in downtown Fox Lake. The unique decor, location, and atmosphere set the tone for the small-town quaint diner feel.

Guests have come to expect great service, a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, and unique daily specials. Whistle Stop Cafe is well known for its homemade pies, specialty coffees, and soup specials. Breakfast and lunch are served from open to close!
As of November 2022, we are now open for dinner service Thursday through Sunday until 8 PM.
